Most “best free tools” lists are written for a global audience. This one is for everyday tasks in India: government and exam forms, wedding paperwork, loans and GST, bank details, and documents that mix Hindi and English. Every tool below is free to use on FreeToolConvert, most without an account, and most run entirely in your browser so your files are not uploaded.

For government and exam forms

Image compressor — photos and signatures under 50 KB

Exam and recruitment portals usually ask for a photo and signature within a tight size range. The image compressor lets you set a target size such as 50 KB or 20 KB and compresses the image to fit. Our guide to compressing an image below 50 KB covers typical requirements step by step.

Passport size photo maker

The passport photo maker crops a photo to standard sizes such as 35×45 mm, can replace the background with white, and lays out multiple copies on a 4×6 inch or A4 sheet for printing at a local photo shop.

PDF compressor

Portals often limit PDF uploads to 1 or 2 MB. The PDF compressor offers four levels, from lossless to extreme, and shows the size before and after.

Image to PDF and JPG to PDF

Scanned your mark sheets as photos? Image to PDF combines several images into a single PDF, in the order you choose.

For weddings and family events

Marriage biodata maker

Fill in your details once, preview them in 11 Hindu, Muslim and general designs, and download a PDF. Two designs are free. Start on the biodata maker.

Invitation card maker

The invitation card maker has 10 designs for weddings, roka, birthdays and baby showers. Names, venue and other details can be written in Hindi or English.

For money: loans, EMI and GST

EMI calculator

The EMI calculator shows the monthly instalment, total interest and a month-by-month schedule in Indian number format (₹10,00,000, not ₹1,000,000). For example, a ₹10 lakh loan at 8.5% for 20 years works out to an EMI of about ₹8,678.

Loan affordability calculator

Banks in India look at FOIR — the share of your income that goes to EMIs. The loan affordability calculator estimates how much you could borrow based on income, existing EMIs and the bank’s FOIR limit.

Percentage calculator (GST and discounts)

The percentage calculator includes “add a percentage” and “subtract a percentage” modes, which make GST (₹1,000 + 18% = ₹1,180) and sale prices quick to work out.

Unit price calculator

Is the 500 g pack or the 1 kg pack better value? The unit price calculator compares price per kg, litre or piece.

For banking

IFSC code finder

Enter an IFSC code to see the bank, branch, address and MICR code, and which payment systems (NEFT, RTGS, IMPS, UPI) the branch supports — useful before adding a new beneficiary. Try the IFSC code finder.

For Hindi and English documents

Documents that mix Hindi and English often turn into boxes or question marks when converted. These tools keep Devanagari text intact:

For everyday office work

  • PDF merger and PDF splitter — combine application documents or extract the pages you need.
  • PDF to Word — edit a form or letter you only have as a PDF.
  • HEIC to JPG — make iPhone photos open on Windows and government portals.
  • Signature maker — draw or type a signature and save it as a transparent PNG.

What “free” means here

Tools that run in your browser — which is most of them — are free with no account and no limit. A few heavier conversions run on our server; these include a free daily allowance (currently 3 per day), after which they use credits. Biodata downloads and invitation card downloads use credits too. Uploaded files for server tools are deleted automatically within an hour.

Browse all of them on the tools page.
