Which PDF tool do I need?
- Combine several PDFs into one — PDF Merger. Drag files into order; text stays selectable.
- Take pages out of a PDF — PDF Splitter: extract a page range, split every page or split into equal parts.
- Make a PDF smaller for email or a portal upload — PDF Compressor. Text stays sharp and searchable; the biggest savings come from scanned or photo-heavy PDFs.
- Edit a PDF’s text in Word — PDF to Word. Works on PDFs with real text; scanned pages need OCR first.
- Turn a Word document into a PDF — Word to PDF.
- Share pages as images — PDF to JPG, with a choice of resolution.
- Add or remove a password — PDF Password Protector (AES-256) and PDF Unlocker (you must know the password).
- Turn notes or plain text into a PDF — TXT to PDF.
Where are my files processed?
Merge, split, compress, PDF to JPG and TXT to PDF run completely in your browser: the file is read by JavaScript on your device and never uploaded. Word conversion and password tools offer a standard in-browser mode and, where it gives better results, an optional server mode — each tool page states exactly what happens before you start.
When you choose a server mode, the file is processed on our server. Uploaded files are sent over HTTPS, stored privately (never at a public address) and deleted automatically within 1 hour(s). Everyone gets a free daily allowance of server conversions; after that, each one uses a credit (see pricing).
Tips for better results
- Compress after merging, not before, so shared fonts and images are stored once.
- If a portal rejects your PDF, check both the size limit and whether it accepts password-protected files — many don’t.
- Keep your original: compression and conversion always create a new file.
