What is a marriage biodata?

A marriage biodata is a one- or two-page profile that families in India share when looking for a match. Unlike a job résumé it focuses on personal and family background: who you are, your education and work, your family, and how to get in touch.

What should a biodata include?

  • Personal details — name, date and time of birth, height, and anything customary in your community such as religion, caste, gotra or manglik status.
  • Education and career — highest qualification, occupation, employer or business, and (if you wish) income.
  • Family — parents’ names and occupations, siblings and family type.
  • About you and expectations — a few honest lines about your personality, interests and what you’re looking for.
  • Contact — the family member to contact, phone and email.
  • Photo — a recent, clear, front-facing photo.

Tips for a good biodata

  • Keep it to one page if you can; only include fields that matter to your family.
  • Use consistent formats (for example, “15 Jan 1998”, “5′4″”).
  • Share contact details you’re comfortable giving to people outside your family.
  • Proofread names and dates — they’re what people check first.

Frequently asked questions

Is the biodata maker free?

Filling in and previewing your biodata is free. Downloading a free template uses 1 credit (new accounts get 10 credits). Premium templates are a one-time payment per download.

Can I edit my biodata later?

Yes. Saved biodata stays in your account, where you can edit it, duplicate it for another family member, or delete it at any time.

Who can see my details and photo?

Only you. Your biodata and photo are stored privately in your account and are never shown publicly. Delete them whenever you like.

Is the PDF print-ready?

Yes — each template is designed for A4 paper. Print at 100% scale for best results.

Can I add fields that aren’t on the form?

Yes. Add custom rows to the personal, family and contact sections, or create whole new sections such as “Property” or “Horoscope”.
