Muslim Marriage Biodata Format: Sections, Sample Details and Free Designs
In this article
A Muslim marriage biodata — sometimes called a rishta biodata or Nikah biodata — introduces a person and their family to a prospective match. The core is the same as any biodata, but families usually look for a few details that reflect faith and community. This guide explains a common format, what each section can include, and how to make one for free with the biodata maker.
Opening the biodata
Many families begin with بِسْمِ ٱللَّٰهِ (Bismillah) or 786 at the top, followed by the person’s name. Others simply write “Marriage Biodata”. Choose whatever your family is comfortable with.
Section 1: Personal details
- Full name
- Date of birth and age
- Height, complexion and blood group
- Marital status, if relevant (for example “Never married”) — add it with Add a field
Section 2: Religion and community
This section helps families understand compatibility in faith and practice. Include only what you are comfortable sharing:
- Religion — Islam.
- Sect — for example Sunni or Shia.
- Maslak or school of thought, if your family considers it important.
- Community or biradari — for example Syed, Ansari, Qureshi, or a regional community.
- Religious practice — some families mention prayer, Quran reading or hijab. Keep it factual and brief.
The form has fields for religion and caste/community. Use Add a field for Sect, Maslak or anything else, with your own label.
Section 3: Education and profession
Write the highest qualification with the subject and institution, and the current occupation with the employer or business. Religious education (for example Hifz or an Alim course) can also be listed here if it applies.
Section 4: Family details
- Father’s name and occupation.
- Mother’s name and occupation.
- Brothers and sisters, with marital status.
- Family type and native place.
Section 5: Contact and expectations
Give the name of the contact person (often the father, mother or a guardian), the city and a phone number. In the expectations section, write a few lines about what you are looking for — for example education, family values or location — in a respectful tone.
Designs for Muslim biodata
The free Crescent Elegance design is made for Muslim biodata, with a crescent motif and a clean layout. Two premium designs, Mughal Splendour and Islamic Geometric, use Mughal-inspired and geometric patterns. The general designs (Rose Gold Modern and Minimal Elegance) also work well if you prefer a neutral look. You can compare them on the templates page.
Writing in Urdu, Hindi or English
Most biodata are written in English, sometimes with names or the opening line in Urdu or Hindi. You can type any of these into the form. Keep each field in one language where you can — mixing scripts within a single line can be harder to read.
How to create it
- Open the biodata form and fill in the sections you want. Every field except the name is optional.
- Add custom fields such as Sect or Maslak with Add a field.
- Add a photo and crop it in your browser.
- Select Save & choose design, preview your details in each design, and download the PDF.
Free designs use 1 credit per download (new accounts start with 10 credits). Premium designs are a one-time ₹49 per download.
Privacy
Your biodata and photo are stored privately in your account and are never published. Only you can see, edit or delete them.
