Text to Speech

Listen to text read aloud with your device’s built-in voices — including Indian English and Hindi voices where available — with adjustable speed and pitch.

In-browser · no upload

Voices are provided by your device and browser. Voices marked “online” are generated by your browser vendor’s service, so the text is sent to them.

Download as audio

Creates a WAV file on your device with a natural-sounding English voice. The first download loads the voice engine (about 120 MB, once); after that it works offline.

English text only for now, up to 2,000 characters. Creating the file takes roughly twice the length of the speech on a computer, longer on phones. Uses the Speed setting above. Generated with the open Kokoro-82M model (Apache-2.0); your text never leaves your device. Pronunciation by eSpeak NG (GPL-3.0).

Runs entirely in your browser. Your files and text are not uploaded to our servers.

To convert text to speech, type or paste text, choose a voice, adjust speed and pitch, and press Play. Long text is read sentence by sentence so it doesn’t cut off. Pause, resume or stop at any time.

How it works
