To check a domain’s age, type the domain (e.g. example.com) and select Check domain age. The result shows the registration date, exact age, last update, expiry date, registrar and status codes from the domain’s official registry.

How it works
The tool queries RDAP (Registration Data Access Protocol), the modern standard that replaces WHOIS, through rdap.org, which forwards the request to the authoritative registry for the domain’s extension (such as Verisign for .com). Only the domain name is sent.
Features
-
Official registry data
RDAP, not scraped WHOIS.
-
Exact age
Years, months and days.
-
Expiry and status
See when it renews and any locks.
Privacy and file handling
- Where it runs
- Runs in your browser + public lookup service
- Third party
- Public RDAP registry servers (rdap.org)
Runs in your browser. Only the value you look up is sent to public RDAP registry servers (rdap.org); nothing else leaves your device.
Limitations
- Some country-code extensions don’t publish RDAP data, so no result is available for them.
- Registrant personal details are generally redacted by registries.
Frequently asked questions
Does domain age affect SEO?
Age by itself is not a known ranking factor; the site’s content, links and history matter more.
Why is there no result for my domain?
Its registry may not offer RDAP, or the domain isn’t registered.
